Ukraine Update

Today’s update. Chad and Mary were able to catch a bit of a breather. But there are still refugees leaving the country. There are a whole bunch of different realities for people. Today there was a couple, the woman has advanced cancer, and she needs to get to her family in New York. We made arrangements to get them to Vienna, to get them onto the plane to New York. 

In terms of getting supplies they had a massive day today. Two trucks with 42 tons go to Sumy, which is right along the border of Russia. Another truck goes to Zaparozhye, the area where the nuclear power plant was taken over by the Russians. Chad tells us that it’s still incredible the amount of things that are happening. 

Today Mary was preparing two houses for around 18 refugees to live, they needed to install the necessary things like the kitchen, a fridge, and the water supply in the two houses. 

Tomorrow morning two trucks from The Netherlands  are arriving with food and supplies. Chad thought the trucks were going to be coming tonight, but because of the curfew that was not possible. So, the trucks are going to stay for the night in Hungary and arrive in the morning.

Ukraine update

After sending out more than 450 deliveries across the country, Mary and I decided to take a direct part in distributing food and supplies by traveling to northern Ukraine. The first day, we brought in supplies to Irpin and Bucha where they will be distributed throughout the communities.     The following day, we attempted to travel to Chernobyl but were not able to make it as bridges had been destroyed by the Russian army. There were only a few families remaining in the village that had been completely devastated. Being able to participate in delivering even just a small amount of food and supplies gave me a greater appreciation for all the help that has, and continues to be, provided all across the country. It's not about the numbers or statistics, but rather the provision for people in their darkest of hour. Thank you to all who have contributed towards that effort.

Ukraine Update

 In December 2021, the Fraser Valley group sent boxes to Ukraine. As Russian forces were driven back, routes were opened and this past week our partners began receiving the boxes which included 39 of them to Poltava. Thank you so much to all for caring for the needs of Ukrainians. “We have 50,000 refugees officially registered in our town here and unofficially it’s about 100,000. We can’t express to you how much this help means to us. Many people received beddings, clothes, shoes and other supplies. The Lord is giving us tremendous opportunities to help people. I was also able to bring food supplies to many of the surrounding areas.” - Tent Ministry (Michael)

Ukraine Update

Each day that passes by there is so much that is happening in Chad’s and Mary’s house. The people have a variety of needs in terms of what they are going to do and where they are going to. Chad and Mary had transports to the border to help some people get across the border. They are also looking for longer term care for those who can’t either get across the border.   Chad had also the opportunity to visit the warehouse today, where he is in awe of what God is doing. There’s been over a hundred points of locations where sprinter vans have gone. Even in some of the most difficult places there are volunteers that are taking smaller loads of food and supplies to the different points within the cities.    According to Chad it has been remarkable what God is doing, through those who are contributing back home and through the team that has been established in Ukraine.
